Human dogsled race at Syracuse Winterfest helps benefit a local charity
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse Winterfest kicked off this weekend, Sunday, February 19 at the Syracuse Inner Harbor to support Helping Hounds Dog Rescue with a special race involving dogsleds. This year’s top event, the human dogsled race, was brought back by popular demand with three different age range categories and with all proceeds benefitting the dog rescue organization.
Mother’s Day Drive accepting donations through May 2
(WSYR-TV) — With Mother’s Day approaching, United Way of Central New York and COR Development Company have decided to host a drive to collect personal care items and toiletries for local women in need.
Human Dogsledding event raises money for Helping Hounds Dog Rescue
On Sunday, a couple hundred people gathered outside the roughly 100-foot lawn of Iron Pier Apartments near the Syracuse Inner Harbor, anticipating the start of the second Winterfest Human Dogsled Race. People converged to the sides of the lawn to watch teams of five people, with four pullers and one rider, race with their own customized sleds.
COAT DRIVE WRAPS CENTRAL NEW YORK IN WARM WISHES
United Way of Central New York is partnering with COR Development Company to collect new and gently used coats and other winter items to share with our neighbors who need them. Donors are invited to drop off items through Jan. 2 at bins at participating COR Development retail tenants. In addition to coats, we are collecting new mittens, new hats and scarves, and new socks.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A local developer is teaming up with a non-profit to collect winter gear for people in need. The COR Development Company and the United Way of Central New York are hosting the “Share the Warmth” campaign through early next month.
Food truck series to benefit In My Father’s Kitchen
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A summer food truck series is coming together to benefit In My Father’s Kitchen. You’ll get a chance to enjoy delicious local food, all while helping the organization and their mission: Assisting the homeless and refugee community in Central New York.
Cor Development is stepping up and offering several options to help out In My Father’s Kitchen. With each food purchase, customers will have the option to round up their bill, or you can bring a donation of clothing, money or toiletries.

First Look at new plan to transform Inner Harbor
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Plans are underway to transform the Inner Harbor into a mecca of restaurants and retail. COR Development announced Thursday that they are pursuing a market place concept at what would be called the Inner Harbor’s Iron Pier complex on Van Rensselaer Street. It would be a mix of restaurant and retail tenants.
